Once in a lifetime chance to re-design Balsall Heath

Our neighbourhood is really lucky to be a front runner nationally for drawing up its own Neighbourhood Plan. Not for 100 years has there been such a chance to make the area fit for the future. Public consultation is going on now.

The basic approach from the Neighbourhood Forum and the residents is to make the area more attractive for pedestrians and cyclists, for visitors and local people and for sustainable businesses. The plans have been drawn by Joe Holyoak , a local planner and urban designer.

They look great to me.

For those who missed the  insulated house in Kings Heath, there is a similar project in Northfield

Energy Makeover Open Day

Saturday 14th July, 10am – 12pm

As part of its Home Energy Makeover Scheme, Northfield Ecocentre is running an open day on a property that has had work done. . This property has had external solid wall insulation, but only on the back as it’s a mid terrace.
