Everybody needs to heat their home, but unfortunately a lot of us in Balsall Heath live in older houses that leak heat constantly. Our heating systems may be hard to control. We want to make energy savings, making our homes easier to heat and our fuel bills easier to pay.
The Green Deal is a new way to pay for insulation measures (loft, cavity wall and solid wall), plus draft proofing and heating systems.
‘Balsall Heath Is our Planet’ now has some resources to help and advise home owners, tenants and landlords about Green Deal type schemes that would retain all the benefit locally, unlike those by big companies.
You pay back the cost over some years, through a standing charge. Only if the energy savings are predicted to outweigh the costs can the work go ahead. The quality of the work is guaranteed.
